Divorce Busting Marriage Counseling Approach

After thirty years in social work during which I served hundreds of families, I came to the conviction that I did not want to feel "stabbed in the stomach" each time I heard of a divorce. After seeing firsthand the devastation that divorce causes children and parents, I diligently searched to find a method to make a transforming difference in marriages that might otherwise end in divorce.

As a result my approach of marriage counseling is based on the solution based Divorce Busting Therapy of Michele Weiner Davis. Michele's book, The Divorce Remedy has been the recipient of the outstanding achievement award of the American Association of Marital and Family Therapists.

Ms. Weiner-Davis is strongly anti-divorce and does all she can to prevent divorces in her therapy and workshops. The divorce of her parents when she was a child had a devastating impact on her. However, good came from the bad because this motivated her to develop Divorce Busting Marriage Therapy.

Michele makes marriage counseling very practical by helping couples to break down goals into smaller steps. Looking at solutions rather than problems is a refreshing aspect of her approach.

If your spouse refuses counseling, Michele has shown me that amazing things can still happen in your marriage because you are not powerless. You are not helpless. This does not mean that you are the problem in your marriage. It simply means that you have the strength and courage to work on the marriage with the assistance of your "Results Marriage Counselor."

The Divorce Busting Therapy approach "provides a road map for finding your way back to a loving marriage," stated John Gray, author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.

The Divorce Busting approach has also been featured on Oprah, 48 HOURS, The Today Show, and CBS This Morning.
